axle bolts tightness 444-544 1960

Hello fellow PV enthusiast,

I went to inspect my front brakes this weekend and discovered that when you take the drum off, you get to take the bearings off to (this was surprisingly different from my 122) So I examined every thing and put new grease in, and then put it back together. How tight should the axle nut be? It was very easy to take it off, but I am unsure if that's how it should be. I tighten it up until the wheel spin got 'stiff', then backed off a flat so it would spin freely. I don't notice any play in the drum.

Obviously I don't have a repair manual, does anybody know of a good source for these (besides ebay). Has any body bought the cd from Scandcar?

thanks
shane
