My 244 is howling the wrong tune! 200 1991

Hi all,

Just got back from a test drive with the dealer and wanted your opions. My 91 244 howls, from the front of the car, like an 18 wheeler when I'm trying to stop. No shudders. No squeals. It doesn't matter if I brake hard or soft the darn thing howls. The pads are in good shape and the rotors are smooth.

The dealer indicated the brake pads were glazed. He also said they were
probably after-market pads and too hard for the car. In addition he indicated
that there's a good chance the rotors are scorched and would have to be replaced.

Anyone have a similar experience they'd wish to share.

Thanks one and all for the great advice past, present and future.
