automatic transmission, Overdrive 200 1987

Let me see if I understand you correctly? You start off in 1st, and as you accelerate the trans shifts into 2rd, then 3rd, and then O/D. Then it stays in O/D.

Does the amber arrow on the instrument panel work? Off means the trans will go into OD when conditions warrant, and ON means the trans is inhibited and will not go into OD at all.

If this isn't a description of what's been happening, please post with what is.
