Alternator/Battery/Wiring problem? 200

Hello,
I have a 85 244 DL. My battery died the other day and my car wouldnt start. I took it and had it tested they said it was dead and I put in a new one and it ran fine for a day. Than my car died again. I figured it was probably the alternator. I had it tested and it only put out 10 volts. I bought a new one installed it, recharged my battery and started up the car. It ran fine for 15 seconds then died. I tried having a friend give me a jump but it would run as long as the cables were attached then it cuts off after about 10 seconds even if I'm on the throttle.

Does anyone have any idea what would be causing this problem? I saw some wiring going to the alternator was fraying so I replaced it to no avail. What should I look for as the source of the car cutting off(Battery not getting enough charge) I would appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks, Jon
