Power steering rack and front suspension stuff 200 1983

Because of a desperate need for new struts, I've decided to go ahead and replace my leaky (and noisy) power steering rack as well. My question is, should I go ahead and tackle other stuff in the front suspension while I am at it? The car has 191k on it and I have no maintenance history (except what I've done in the last 6 months). I am trying to avoid coming back in 3 months and taking it all apart again to do something minor that I could do now and save some time. I can't get a good feel for the suspension because the struts are so bad and the steering rack is definitely shot. I'm also wondering whether I should pull a power steering unit from a junkyard or buy new/remanufactured?

This is the first time I'll be trying this sort of thing so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark
