Volvo Tape Deck

Well, I've had that problem a couple times. I'm not sure how the mechanism works, but it seems to have something to do with the end-of-tape mechanism.

Some tape players have a small point that is pressed by the tape, which flips it or stops it. (This is the common "autostop" mechanism) Others track the reels to stop/flip the tape. I cannot remove the cover of my deck without damaging it... I have a feeling it's an optical reflector on the bottom of the reel hub. You'll likely have to open it and play with it some... But this is likely nothing you didn't already know.

I feel your pain though. :/
