Ringing and Re-ringing 200 1993

Are your sure the noise is coming from the motor? I would be suspicious that the snoise started after you were woriking on the suspension. I thought my old Saab (Rip) had a bad timing chain for months. It made an awful racket, but I didn't do anything about it because I figured that was the end of the car. It turned out the be a loose power steering pump bracket. Are you sure you don't have a busted motor mount, and you shifted the motor slightly when you were working on the suspension. The exaust downpipe comes really close to the rear passenger conrol arm bracket. You can get a clacking sound from that if everthing is not in the right place.
