Water pump replacement

I've never purchased a water pump which never has had the paper gasket and the two rubber ones. The paper goes between the block and the water pump body; the rubber ones are as mentioned previously. Several folks (IPD & RPR) sell gasket kits by themselves in case you need to remove a good water pump and replace it.

I've installed GMB (I think) water pumps before with no problems. This weekend I put a new one on my '83 B23. It was a German company whose name I didn't recognize. Got it from the same local parts guy, and it looked pretty good -- the mating surface of the body was nicely finished and the gaskets looked healthy.

Good luck.
