Dexcool: The Source of Troubles

Folks, I can't disclose the source, but it's a pretty good one. The problems with Dexcool originate with the Texaco Havoline formulation, which has demonstrated deposit formation and other anomalies in GM cars. Other "Dexcools" appear not to: you can buy a Prestone or Zerex product that meets the same specs but does not cause these troubles due to different formulations.

Zerex has some new coolants in development that look very promising; I'll post news as they announce it.
