Hillbilly repair?

Cut out all the rust you can with a jig saw, whizzy tool, tin snips, whatever. Fashion a piece of sheet metal or aluminum to cover the hole. Apply some good sealer, maybe silicone caulking, and pop rivet it. Go underneath and seal the exposed edges and when that sets up give it a thick coating of rubberized undercoat and your problems are over until the next rust hole shows up.
