Re: mysterious BW35 trans leak

I had this problem for 10 years. Only leaked when parked for a few days.

I first put a rubber hose on the vent pipe and brought it up higher so

it would have to go farther before it came out. That helped some. I

got a one way valve from volvo for the oil line that goes to the raditor.

That helped some, but when I had the xmission rebuilt this time at 200k

we discovered that volvo doesn't put a valve in one of the lines comming from the raditor. We added a spring and ball in the valve body and it

hasn't burped since. I have pictures of where it goes if you want I will

send to you. We figured this out from a manual for a ford capri that

uses a bw35.
