I cannot think why a voltage regulator could cause this. If the voltage regulator was not working correctly and the car was stalling it would be from low voltage, which I doubt is the problem since you would notice the lights dimming, and unlikely the car would restart.

I really can't understand why anyone would want that adjustable regulator...the Bosch alternators will put out 80-100 amps, and I'm sure theur regulators will pass that current.

It could be a bad electrical connection related to your mods, although it seems to me it would have to be a short..which you should notice as flickering lights.

Maybe the cold has something to do with fuel icing?
