Re: oil drip at idle screw 200 85

Hi, Phil. In 8K, the flame trap might indeed need checking and might be ready for a cleaning. Especially if you are running dino oil in your car. When I got my 245 and did the flame trap/throttle body cleaning for the first time (maybe ever???) there was oil pooled down in the air intake bellows, and the TPS was FULL of oil, I poured out maybe two capfuls worth. The flame trap, original brass unit, was a solid oil crud cake.

Since replacing the flame trap and changing to synthetic oil it seems to stay pretty dry in there. Make sure that your PCV system is really working right, and be aware that cheap motor oil (not all dino oil is bad, but...) can contain modifiers which have a lower boiling point and are actually distilling off and condensing in your air intake system!
