Chris,

Question about your Volvo is do you have AC or not? I assume as you are UK it is not. In that case check out the info below (e-mail). It might give you a better idea of the extend of the problem. Other guys are talking about left and right fan, the non-ac system does only have one blade which sits on top of the motor (no left or right)

I have a spare non-ac motor available in good working order. I got it out of an '91 sedan. I needed a new fan blade as mine was out of balance so the motor comes without blade. I just took the motor apart to see how it was made, cleaned and lubricated it an but it back together for spare. It runs fine without noise etc, but isn't new off course.

The problem is the work involved to do this not as much the cost of the parts. You can have my spare for a fiver, I can mail it to you but you will have to pay me a bit more to cover the shipping cost, unless you want to come and pick it up.
