Rebuilt AMM's. Any good? 200 89

Hi, I have been having numerous running problems with my 89' 240. Through the help of people on the board (thanks!) I narrowed it down to the AMM. I was able to get a rebuilt Bosch one fairly cheap, $170 w/core exchange, and while my car has not stalled yet, I am still having some of the same problems. Most common of the symptoms is power surging, rough idle and light backfiring. I notice this mostly when starting and when engine is cold. It has only been 1 day since I have replaced the AMM and I am contemplating bringing it into a Volvo shop to have them look at it, thinking there might be another problem I have overlooked. After replacing it the guy behind the counter at the parts store looked at everything briefly and said everything looked OK, and hinted that it might be a symptom of the ECU going out? Well, any advice is much appreciated.
