Re: Squeeky Brakes After Replacement 700 1990

Perry: you didn't tell us which brand of rotors and pads you had installed; FWIW, I have read about most of them, but went with OEM for both, because the brakes are one of VoVo's best safety feature IMHO. The important part about new pads and rotors is to go VERY easy on the brakes, giving yourself a slower ride and longer, gentler braking distances, so as not to 'glaze' the pads; this 'gentle' method is recommended for as much as the first 500 miles--some say less, others more.. The amount of dust from OEM pads is more than worth the braking efficiency. Also, the use of Syl-glide, and possibly shims for the rear pads is often suggested.--PD.
