I just recently changed out my pads for about the 5th time and attempted to take a short cut by not applying the silcone grease to the back of the pads. They squeeled somthing awful. Had to pull them back off last weekend and apply the silcone grease to the backs of the pads and guess what? No more squeeks and squeels. Hope this helps.
