I just did my brakes on my 89 740 GL wag on wed. I used Ate pads with a coat of permatex on the backs. and new Ate Power Disk Rotors. I am happy with it. I dont know if the Ate pads are dusty but the pads that was on befor didnt look like OE and I think it could have contributed to the warping problem on the rotors. I still had a good 75% left on them They didnt look like a good fit. I used Jurid pads on the backs. Made in Spain by allied signal. I used what I could get from my favorite import auto parts store. I recomend changing all the pins and stuff. IPD has them and are a value compared to the dealer. I couldnt find the hardware sets locally. Thats my $0.02
