Q: How to Remove Trans. Solenoid? 300 91

Right now I am in my garage and I am stuck (in the middle of repair)

What I Need To Know Now -

1. Where is the trans. solenoid? On the drivers side about 2/3 way back about in the middle? Does it sit in a round metal cylinder attached with two hex nuts at the base of it?

2. How does it come out? Do I loosen the hex nuts at the base and just pull it out? Is it safe to remove? I mean can anything get messed up inside by removing it - fly out?

Btw, how many parts are involved in the solenoid? If many I will have to be careful of the order removed. Does this present a problem or is it just a few parts?

Rob
