164E Yet again :-) 140-160 1974

Hey all,

Thanks for the tips and ideas. I will definitely check compression before I buy the car. It has new plugs in it.

I've also thought about valve adjustment which I would do anyway upon acquiring the car and about perhaps cam timing based on other posts regarding the fiber timing gear.

Thanks for the info on the AC idle compensation solenoid. Can anyone tell me if it should have 2 wires hooked to it? Right now it has only one which ties into the AC clutch line. However there is no wire on the other terminal and it seems to me like a ground wire should go there.

Definitely full tune up and hose replacement and connection cleaning is in order.

Any ideas on the really really high idle while the engine is in Park or Neutral?

Thanks much again for all your assistance!

Sean Bartnik
