Re: insturment cluster removal (164) 140-160 1970

The pin connectors look the same to me....but in different locations. Shouldn't be a problem there.

I was able to get the stock ribbon type speedo guage set out of my parts 142 this morning....took about 5 minutes...no cut wires.

The problem will be fitting the GT cluster...its too deep and wont fit through the hole. (Hence your problems getting it out of the scrapyard) You'll have to either thread it up through the back, or remove the speedo (and maybe the tach) first, and re-install them after the rest of the cluster is in place. It shouldn't be too hard to do this though, but do give yourself plenty of time for the project in case something does go wrong.
