Warren's advice is good as to whether you need the repairs. All of these will have to be done sooner or later and none fall in the "you need new muffler bearings" category.
None of these repairs have to be done at the dealer; all can be done for far fewer labor hours at a good independent shop. Dealer service writers are paid in large part on the dollar volume they generate. My wife and I have both learned this the hard way. Routine repairs not requiring specialized diagnostic tools are almost always less expensive at an independent shop.
So look for someone who knows Volvos and use them for the repairs.
