Re:Warm Idle High& QUESTIONforGROUP 200 80

You may still have a vacuum leak somewhere. To check for worn injector

seals the best method is to replace them. If its been more than 3 years

for a turbo or 4-5 years for a normally aspirated car then I would replace

them so you have the security of knowing they're good. If you really want

to check you can spray the injector with the cleaner that is sold for

cleaning throttle bodies. Its similiar to carb cleaner, which you can also

use.

If the warm idle is too high then I would check for more vacuum leaks,

and if you can't find any set the idle to what it should be warm. Let

the engine get cold and perform the adjustment on the Auxiliary Air

Valve to open it up some more. This will raise the idle more when its

cold. Just make sure that the valve is closing all the way when warm.

Another problem I had was a lack of power getting to the Aux Air Valve.

I had a bad fuel pump relay in a 1981 that I had and this caused the

computer to not get power as well as the Aux Air Valve and the Control

Pressure Regulator.
