Re: Warning lights on while driving 700 1990

I have a 90 740 gle,the warning lights on my dash were really dim, after checking the belt tension I checked the brushes and one of them was ready to fall out of the regulator holder,I replaced the regulator assy;it comes with new brushes. However if yours has over 100k on it it would be wise to have the alternator rebuilt because of high mileage on the slip rings;they will just tear up the new brushes eventulaly. My induactor lights were very dim and giving a warning sign, don't ignore the dash lights it's a warning to a breakdown.
