Ken,

That damn light haunted me for a couple of months after I bought my brick a bunch of years ago. It was on when I bought it and I, for the life of me, could not find a defective bulb.

I pulled the instument cluster and removed that perpetual beacon... never did find out what was out. It has not adversely affected my life.
