hot start fuel drain 200 78

hi everyone

78 b21f transplanted 3 times, now it's in a 760 tubo diesel body and runs well

problem is this: a cold start gives no problems, occasionally stalls then fires up immediately and runs great there after

at hot start: if restarted in a short time say up to 15 minutes then it will fire, then sometimes run less than smooth then as the fuel system purges the air then it becomes smooth again (usually 5-15 seconds)

:if restarted ilonger than this and before the motor gets cold

then it cranks lifeless till the fuel system starts to bleed the air at which point it will then fire 1,2 3 then 4 cylinders as the air is bled out(the starter is getting hot and with the cold weather the battery is draining alot during this excessive cranking)

the fuel pump appears to not be draining at the check valve

cold start injector is dry, mileage is good

this gradually has gotten worse, and with winter I must correct this

ANY IDEAS ARE WELCOMED

sincerely

kgb
