Hi Scott,

Just a word of encouragement and also one of caution. I do most of my own repair work and find it relaxing and an escape from the daily pressure of sales(self employed). And it also saves a sh**load of money and provides the ability to repair your vehicle at YOUR convenience not the convenience of a shop.

Now for the caution. Be very careful using the spring compressor when you are installing new struts. There is a tremendous amount of stored energy in the compressed springs that has the potential to cause severe injury to the installer as well as any bystanders. I would be extremely careful using a set of cheap compressors especially.
