Re: Stock redline for B230f? 200 85

Redline is at 6k RPM. There is a hard limiter there, so you can't overrev (except by downshifting at high speed.) The orange indication is simply telling you, "not a good idea to run at this RPM for long periods of time."

The B21s had a 6500 RPM redline, and didn't have a limiter, so it was possible to go even higher. And you're right, there really isn't any power there with a stock cam anyway - but drop in something with more lift, add double valve springs, and you can potentially rev it to 8000 RPM or so (with aftermarket ignition/fuel control)...
