I had my pump installed, car back together (83' 242 turbo) and running fine. I noticed that the damn deal was leaking, and there is no room to loosen the heater return tube from the block on a turbo model, so i couldn't pull it back(maybe 1\4" clearance). I found out that i tore the seal when installing it, causing a decent size leak. I took it all apart and bought some new seals, and had to redo it.

tips-------> Install this o ring onto the tube first (after cleaned well) and slide it back into position. Some spit (good lube) works well to help it slide on.

Redo the gasket seals, (clean surfaces), and even apply some permatex high tack sealent on both gasket sides. When installing the pump, slip the heater tube in, and make sure to pull up and seal the pump with the head before tightening bolts. Use a fairly weak antifreeze mixture at first when running it, then drain some out and add a bit more coolant after it has been run for a while and warmed up (antifreeze can cause leakes easier than plain water can, in my experience).

good luck, its a sucky job to do, but when done it will be good to go for a long time.
