Re: throttle body 700 1985

The FAQ are a definite read. I read them over and over until I was sure I was ready to tackle it and it wasn't bad at all.

Just cleaned mine the other week.

Some quick tips:

Very carefully pry the little pop tab off the top of the ball and socket piece that controls the throttle butterfly inside the TB. Don't jerk on the ball and socket and expect it to pop right off, likes it kinda looks like it will.

Don't spray Carb cleaner on anything but yer toothbrush. The Throttle switch on the right side of the TB will not function correctly if it gets wet.

To remove the heavy deposits, use plastic top of toothbrush as a kind of scraper. Don't use any metal to scrape deposits off.
