I replaced the harness in my '86 740 B230FT about two years ago. I paid in the neighborhood of $300 for the new one from a local Volvo dealer. The other dealer wanted double that. I'll double-check my receipts this evening. I shopped and shopped and couldn't get a better price; if memory serves, the Volvo club convinced the manufacturer to lower the harness prices.

Installation isn't a breeze; I did it when replacing a head gasket.
