Jay,
All cars have problems. Some cars less than others, some more. Some cars never have anyproblems, some people had good luck with Yugos. I personally had a very good Dodge Aries K. Not to many people gat 220,000 miles out of one of those beasts. I don't think any of the volvo lovers on this site would tell you that volvos are maintanince free. If they do they lie. However, I chose to drive two volvos because they are easy to work on, very safe, parts are easy to fine, and I really like the way they drive. I bought my 88 740 when I was a sophomore in college broke, and in need of transportation, for 300 bucks. It was an incredable pile of trash. It was owned by a Head Injury clinic and had virtually every peice of the interior broken. but, had been amintanied by the volvo dealer and ran perfectly. It needed no engine work and had 199,350 when I bought it. two years later I have completed school and still drive that car. I love it. I have replaced all of the brocken parts after I bought a parts car for 200 bucks, and just completed a 1,000 mile round trip for turkey day this weekend with my wife. the car now has 281,l00 and were going for 500,000
So the oroal of the story is, Don't bitch about volvo's being crappy on the volvo web page or some shmuck like me will feel the need to rant about his volvo for ten or fifteen minuets.
