Re: throttle control 700 1986

Sounds like you are not getting enough gas to keep up with the demand for highway speed. When did you last change your fuel filter? Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Does this only happen when the gas tank is less than 1/2 full. There is a short lenght of hose in the fuel tank connecting the in-tank pump to the output tube. If this or the in-tank pump fail, you do not get the proper amount of fuel to the main pump. Left too long and you will need to replace main pump.
