replacement of auto shift lever light 900 95

how does one remove the cover to the automatic shift cover to gain access to replace the light bulb beneath there? I have removed the long black plastic cover, but there is no visible way to remove the shift lever cover. there are four large bolts holding the entire thing down. do I remove those or are there some hidden screws to allow removal of just the top cover. The factory manuals say nothing on how to remove the cover or replace the light bulb. I have searched behind the shift lever brush for screws but no success.
