factory radio, left side off and on. Do I replace? 900 93

I have a 940 turbo 93. The radio is cutting in and out, depending on the bumps. The left side speakers cuts out both front and back. The right side speakers there is no problem with that side. All I have to do is touch the volumm control knob and it comes back on. If I turn it up louder, I have no problem. I was considering taking the radio out and spraying some electronic cleaner on the volumn control knob inside. Not sure if it is dirt or what. Maybe I need to replace the complete radio. Has anyone got any suggestions for a replacement or is it just dirt inside that I can clean up with some spray cleaner. I have just had the car a few months and it came out of the Chicago area.

thanks

Roy
