Re: Electric Fan Setup

This post was supposed to go in the 700 series forum but I guess it's now across all the forums.

My local wrecker told me that it wouldn't be worth it to get a fan out of a 700 because of the problems with the thermostat and electricals.

I only want the fan when it's needed, which won't be too often, and also on a switch (with relays of course).

If the thermostats from a 700 only turn the fan on before it overheats then it would be to late for my car since it would be the only the electric fan cooling, not the mechanical one as well. Is it the thermostat that decides when to turn the fan on or is it the elctricals associated with the fan?

Where would the thermostat go?

I'm wanting to remove the mechanical fan and either mount the electric on the back of the radiator or if it doesn't fit, on the front.

Any advice or thoughts would be appriatated.

Thanks!!!
