Hi Paul, I see that you have had a response to your question, I'm not sure how to look at it to see if I'm being redundant. Anyway this is what I think your problem is. The thing that the flame trap goes onto is called an oil trap, and I think you'll find that its plugged. If you're lucky you can stick a long screwdriver into the nipple of the oil trap and clear it that way, if not you will have to remove it and clean it on the bench or replace it.
