I had a 79 242gt. Check as much as you can but I suggest checking the status of the cooling system. I replaced a rad and two water pumps. It liked to burn water pumps. Also it had a nasty habit of breaking speedo cables.... bu bye cruise and guage. They were apparently a problem to install and there was some part confusion on this model I believe. I think most things fell into the realm of normal wear and tear otherwise. m2c
