This one gets everyone at first. The pulley bolts at the crank must be removed, the outer half of the pulley comes off with the outer spare shims (set aside) and there are a variable number of shims under that, between the pulley halves that determine the effective diameter of the pulley. Remove shims to tighten the belt (this is like moving the AC away from the crank) or add shims into the center section to loosen.
