Oil Filter Shelf Life 900

Dear Fellow Brickboarders,

Hope you're well and stay so! Do oil filters (e.g., Mann W917 or Bosch [Made in Germany]) deteriorate - and is such a filter's use ill-advised - if stored correctly (dry)?

Tire rubber does deteriorate with time: old tires - never used - may look fine but the rubber becomes brittle with age, even if stored in a cool/dry place.

But an oil filter has a paper-like filter material. Does it embrittle or otherwise lose its effectiveness?

Yours faithfully,

Spook
