1988 instrument panel - I did something dumb 700 1988

pulled my instrument panel to change the fuel gauge. It is a Yazaki panel. this panel has 4 multi-wire plastic connectors and 2 or 3 single wire connectors (tabs). changed the fuel gauge and reinstalled the panel. The multi wire connectors were easy to reconnect (each has a dedicated location).

the dumb error was that I did not record where the 3 single wire connected to. I assumed that they were ground but maybe not. I have the three 4 vol green repair manuals, but there is no diagram showing where those 3 wires plug into. the engine starts and appeared to work fine (the instruments work). however, the instrument panel lights are now dead.

there are two double connector tabs on the back of the panel. one is near the rheostat and the other is on the rear of the speedometer.

where do those wires go??

are those tabs grounds??

are all the wires grounds?

the wires are: white with a black stripe (on the fuel gauge side of wiring harness), red with a white stripe, and the third connector has two wires Yellow and brown with white stripe. those two are on the temperature gauge side of the wiring harness.

The problem with the white wire on the fuel gauge side of the panel is there is no place to connect it to. the wire is to short and there is no tab connector on that side of the instrument panel. I remember unplugging it, but now have no idea of where it goes.

any ideas????

are the wire
