A/C indicator light flashing, 1998 S90 w ACC S90-V90

The lamp behind the A/C on/off button has started flashing continually and I can hear the a/c clutch cycling regardless of where the controls are set.

I read the FAQ section about using the indicator light to read a/c trouble codes, BUT it's not working - the light just continues to flash at a regular interval.

Any suggestions from you good folks?

If I want to disable the A/C system, would pulling the 2 fuses in the under-hood fuse box be enough?
