"Possible causes?"

Many, many possible causes, which is probably why you're not seeing responses.

Best fill us in on the history of the car, the issue, what you know about diagnostics, and how deep are you wanting to dive. Meanwhile, I'm sure a few of us will throw guesses your way. For example, my daughter reported the same tendency to stall at an intersection after driving at speed. The fuel pressure regulator was stuck. I believe she could have provided a second clue from the poor fuel economy if she had been keeping track.
