anomaly(?): green made in Japan 1272125 struts 200

Came across an interesting pair of struts. Part number 1272125; green enamel; made in Japan. Volvo, part number and Made in Japan actually stamped into housing, not painted. Owner said he purchased them at his local Volvo dealership parts counter.

Oh, also, there is RJ 13 (maybe 18) stamped below the part number.

Hmm. Has anyone seen these? Any info or insight?
