1961 544 Ford rear end installed 444-544

Thanks. I had the long side shortened to take a short side axle which centered the differential. It ended up at about 54-1/4" wide drum face to drum face.
I drilled and tapped the top of the differential by hand with a 1/2" electric drill using the mounting plate for the template. Some shims were added to level the mounting plate. The differential has plenty of meat to drill into. The only welding I did was to mount the panhard bar bracket to the axle tube.
It is in the car now bolted to the suspension arms. Need to install springs, shocks and limit straps. Will attach more pictures when that is done. Then on to making a tranny mount and drive shaft.

Ray J.
