removing rear hubs to replace backing plates S90-V90

Since no one else is chiming in, I'll throw in a couple of ideas. I just had mine torn up and badly bent on my 1995 965 from some sort of road debris, and after looking at the potential difficulty of getting it off, decided to bend it straight as I could and leave it.

I considered making a cut from the out side to the center hole to remove the old one and doing the same to the new one and trying to tweak it on and either taping over the back with duct tape or making a metal strap to bridge the cut.

Another thought is to just leave it off. I think a lot of racers remove them.

Maybe someone with more expertise could comment.

John
