240 Strut Insert Recommendations 200

Mac,

Thanks for, to say the least, the complete run-down on 240 strut cartridges.

In order to avoid any uncertainty or gerry rigging, I'm going to go with the Bilstein Touring. I recently used the last pair of new Boge Turbo Gas struts I had in my horde - I only wish I had had the foresight to buy more than a half dozen when they were available.

In regards to the strut mounts, I learned many years ago that if a part has any rubber in it, only Volvo OE was worth the trouble of mounting. That was after I installed a pair of KYB strut tops because they were readily available only to have them start to self destruct within 7 Kmi. I replaced them with the Volvo strut mount which I had just removed, then drove the car to death.

Thanks again,
Rich (Near Pittsburgh)
