^^^This is key. My mother used to make me "lose control" of the car in parking lots to learn how to correct. Dry, wet, rain, snow...it's all different. I agree that no 16 yo should be out in that stuff on their own.

But, it does indeed look like the old girl did her job and kept you safe. The rippling in the backdoor would lead me to believe that the frame is tweaked a bit and is thus a total loss.

Since you have the other cars to drive, you can take your time looking for your next 245.
