Are all the Gemo clutch cables gone? further research info for sages 200

hi sages- did some net and pedestrian research on this issue. gemo is a berlin germany company which makes high quality cables and related products for various industries, mainly automotive. seems to deal only with the industry and not the consumer.apparently they are still in business. have checked about 8 sources ipd, tasca, fcp, autozone, etc. none have it. checked volvo too. they want $60 upfront without assurances who makes it.would think an oem part from the volvo dealer would not be stinko. convinced from board experience, that the gemo is the only one to get unless you want to risk early failure or a firewall crapout. dont feel like having to do this job twice. do have a nos cable as an emergency spare under the seat for when i get stuck in stinking creek , md. it is labeled from the pioneer company and stamped made in italy oct. 1996. it looks just like the picture of a beck arnly brand. it has a black plastic cover on it and is exactly 42.5 inches, the right length . inside the cable sheath is a freely moving cable coated with a black cover too, i guess for ease of movement. it doesnt look cheaply made. although a poster here advised that tasca has gemo for $29, tasca told me they did not know who made the part but it was listed as oem for my 92 volvo 245. wondering if the best solution for now is to install the pioneer part and see how it works while continuing to search for the gemo. chances for that are about as good as the americans had at the kasserine pass. your final thoughts on this conundrum? thanks tons oldduke
