240 horn swap gone bad 200 1983

Found the problem. I attached the horn not using the small metal straps that they were originally attached with. The horns did not like being fastened to tightly. I reattached them with the straps and now the horn sounds loudly. I think that I will do as some of you have suggested and use a relay triggered off the horn button that will allow me to run full battery voltage through the horns.
